Online services ‘can make holiday travel easier’: Bahrain

The Information and eGovernment Authority (iGA) calls on citizens and residents to use the range of e-services available on the national portal,, while preparing for their summer plans or Haj trip

Travelers are reminded to check the validity of their ID cards which can easily be renewed one month in advance via together with the renewal of their Bahraini passport, an online service provided in cooperation with the Nationality, Passport and Residence Affairs (NPRA), noting that it can be renewed six months in advance.

Also in partnership with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, travelers are advised to download the ‘Wejhaty’ application via, to use the e-services available before and during their trip, such as consulting information on visas related to destinations they wish to travel to, insurance details and contacts of Bahrain embassies, consulates and foreign missions in case of emergency and need to contact them.

People traveling via King Fahad Causeway can download the eTraffic app, provided in cooperation with the General Directorate of Traffic, and also available through the national portal, giving users peace of mind to easily renew vehicle registration. vehicles, permission to cross the roadway, and issuance of insurance certificates and policies for Bahraini vehicles bound for Saudi Arabia, in cooperation with United Insurance.

It also allows them to submit an application for the issuance of insurance policies upon departure, which can only be issued by Saudi Arabia to citizens and residents traveling from Bahrain.

When traveling abroad and renting a car, you can also apply for international driving licenses through the national portal. They can be issued before their trips using their current valid licenses. Some destinations require Covid-19 vaccination certificates, whether printed or digital, prior to entry.

Travelers can obtain their vaccination certificates through the BeAware Bahrain app, provided by iGA in partnership with the National Coronavirus Task Force.
